We've been working on the graphics and the website for a few months. A friend of John's did the truck design, using elements we creating for the catering site. Once that major part of the image was created I worked to create a website to carry out the brand online.
The biggest challenge with the website was trying to come up with a way that John and his crew could update their location quickly and easily from their iPhones. WordPress is easy, but doing maps and such from a small screen is just too involved. Eventually the truck will have fairly steady locations set up, but during the launch we wanted this to be super simple. After trying about 20 different options, I found a solution that will work. I'm using the GeoPress plugin from WPMU in conjunction with the iPhone app Poster along with Dropbox. We set up the maps for the locations in advance with the mapping plugin and get the shortcode. Then we set up text files and put them in a Dropbox folder, the first line is the title of the post, the rest of the content is the remainder of the post, including the shortcode for the map. After connecting poster to dropbox and setting a few defaults it only takes 4 clicks to update their location.
